August brings the Ogden Valley Balloon Festival with entertainment, arts and crafts booths. After 10 years, it has become the 5th largest such festival in the state, and the rooms book fast. September brings the Upper Ogden Valley Triathlon and Taste Snowbasin summer lift-served biking and hiking open 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday, Saturday, Sunday and holidays through September 25, 2005. Enjoy music on the plaza and special moonlight gondola rides. Hunting is also popular in the surrounding areas, with guided trips are available, as well as snowmobiles and horseback riding, and sleigh rides, hay rides. Fly fishing for trout in area streams and the lake is very popular but not over crowded. For a change of pace, visit Dinosaur Park at the entrance to Ogden Canyon.
